| Chicagoland Speedway, located in Joliet, Ill., is only 40 miles from the birthplace of automobile racing in America. The first automobile race between gasoline-powered vehicles ever held in
the United States actually took place on Nov. 28, 1895, when six cars
left Jackson Park in Chicago for a 54-mile race to Evanston, Ill., and
back in the snow. Frank Duryea took just more than 10 hours, averaging
7.3 mph, to win the race and earn $2,000. Chicagoland Speedway has 18-degree banking in its turns. The 2,400-foot
frontstretch has 11 degree banking and the backstretch, which runs 1,700
feet, is banked at 5 degrees. It takes NASCAR’s top drivers less than 30 seconds to speed around its 1.5 miles in qualifying trim - Jeff Gordon set a track record in qualifying for the 2004 Tropicana 400 at 28.886 seconds, an average speed of 186.942 mph. |

Follow southbound I-55. Don’t be distracted by directional signs on I-55 for “Joliet Road” or “Historic Rt. 66.” These routes lead through congested commercial and retail districts and are subject to drawbridge lifts.

•Westbound I-80 traffic should exit at BRIGGS St. (exit 134) TURN LEFT. Continue 1.9 miles straight on MANHATTAN Rd/US 52. Travel 7 miles to LARAWAY Rd. TURN RIGHT. Track entrance approx 2 miles on your left

The "Blue Line" South East Inbound:
Take I-57 to MANHATTAN-MONEE Rd. WEST (exit 335). Follow Manhattan-Monee Rd. 11 miles to US 52. TURN RIGHT. 9 miles to SCHWEITZER Rd. TURN LEFT. Continue approx. 1 mile to lot entrance on right.

Southbound I-55 traffic SHOULD STAY on I-55 until I-80 EAST (exit 250A). Proceed 6.7 miles to IL Rt. 53/CHICAGO St. SOUTH (exit 132A). 2 miles on IL Rt. 53 SOUTH to LARAWAY Rd., TURN LEFT. Lot entrance on right. |
The "Yellow Line" South West Inbound :
Take I-55 North to ARSENAL Rd. (exit 245). TURN RIGHT on ARSENAL Rd. After 2.9 miles Arsenal Rd. becomes MANHATTAN Rd. Continue on Manhattan Rd. 3.1 miles to IL Rt. 53 and TURN LEFT. 2.5 miles to SCHWEITZER Rd. TURN RIGHT. Lot entrance on left.
